Pacific Motorway Upgrade, Exit 49 Interchange

The Pacific Motorway (M1) Exit 49 Interchange Upgrade at Pimpama, Queensland, aims to improve safety and traffic flow efficiency by constructing a new bridge over the motorway, adding additional traffic lanes, upgrading on and off-ramps, and replacing roundabouts with signalized intersections. These enhancements are designed to accommodate rapid industrial and residential development in the northern Gold Coast area, reducing congestion and improving access. Construction commenced in early 2021 and is expected to be completed in early 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting.
